After the passing of two long-term and dedicated Alumni Board Members, the Honorable Sandra A. Forster ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½™79 and Adele Lerman Janow ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½™90, the Alumni Board decided to establish an Immediate Impact Scholarship to commemorate the lives of these esteemed alumnae, The Adele Janow and Judge Sandra Forster Memorial Scholarship. In addition to being lively presences on the Board and extremely committed to the betterment of the Law School, both were respected members of the Westchester community and beyond. Through the generosity of the alumni board along with the family and friends of Judge Forster and Adele Janow, law student Reese Frisch ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½™26 was awarded the memorial scholarship.

ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½œAttending law school has been the toughest challenge IΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½™ve ever faced, and it hasnΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½™t been easy,ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ shared scholarship recipient Reese Frisch ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½™26. ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½œMy commitment to justice drives everything I do, shaping both my academic and professional journey as I prepare for a career dedicated to advocacy and meaningful change. I am deeply grateful for the support of this scholarship, which has made it possible for me to continue pursuing my goals.ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½

When Joseph Churgin graduated from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ in 1993, he never could have imagined that 32 years later, two of his children would not only be studying law but attending the same law school. ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½œI felt incredibly proud that both Hunter and Emma wanted to attend law school where I got my start,ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ shared Joseph. ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½œIt was the perfect fit for me, and I hoped that it would be for both of my children as well.ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½
