Which courses can I waive?
For those who qualify, Preliminary Skills and Prerequisite courses are the only courses eligible for waiver in MS programs.
The Office of Graduate Admission conducts an initial audit of your academic transcripts and will indicate any waived courses on your Program Analysis Sheet (PAS). If you believe you are eligible for additional waivers that are not reflected, you may request a review by contacting Lubin Advisement at lubinadviseny@pace.edu or reaching out directly to your assigned academic advisor.
To be eligible for a waiver, students must demonstrate proficiency through prior applicable coursework completed at a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution. Proficiency is recognized by meeting at least one of the following criteria:
- Completion of two directly related undergraduate courses, each three or more credits, within six years of initial enrollment at Lubin, with minimum grades of B or better
- Completion of one directly related graduate course, three or more credits, within six years of initial enrollment, with a minimum grade of B or better
- Completion of 15 or more undergraduate credits in a discipline specific to the course to be waived, with satisfactory academic performance
All waiver requests are subject to review and final approval by the Lubin School of Business.

Academic Standards Questions
What is the minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) I must maintain?
In accordance with the guidelines established by the Lubin Graduate Academic Standards Committee, all Lubin Graduate students are required to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in order to be considered in good academic standing and to graduate from Â鶹´«Ã½.
What happens if my cumulative GPA goes below 3.0?
If a studentÂ鶹´«Ã½™s cumulative GPA falls below 3.0 after completing 9 credits, they will be considered in poor academic standing. Depending on their GPA and academic progress, students in this standing may be placed on Academic Probation or may be dismissed from their program.
Students placed on probation will receive a notification letter via email from Lubin Advisement; however, probation is not dependent on receiving this letterÂ鶹´«Ã½”it is the studentÂ鶹´«Ã½™s responsibility to proactively contact Lubin Advisement at lubinadviseny@pace.edu if they are in academic jeopardy. A registration hold will also be placed on the account of any student whose GPA falls below 3.0. Students with this hold must meet with their assigned academic advisor before the start of the semester to plan their registration. While on probation, students are typically limited to enrolling in no more than 9 credits per semester, unless otherwise specified in their probation letter.
If a student on probation meets their conditions of probation, they will be allowed to remain enrolled. Once the student raises their cumulative GPA to 3.0 or above, the registration hold will be lifted, and they will be considered in good academic standing.
What happens if I do not meet the terms of Academic Probation?
Students who do not meet the terms of their Academic Probation are subject to dismissal from the Lubin School of Business. There are two types of academic dismissals: those that allow for an appeal and those that do not. If a student is eligible to appeal their dismissal, their academic record will be reviewed by the Lubin Graduate Academic Standards Committee of the Lubin Faculty Council. Based on this review, the committee may choose to reinstate the student with defined academic conditions or issue a final dismissal from the program. Each dismissal case is reviewed individually and on its own merits.
International students who are dismissed should be aware that they may be required to leave the country immediately, depending on their visa status. International students on an F-1 visa should consult with the International Students and Scholars Office (ISS) to address any questions regarding their visa status.
What is Provisional Matriculation?
Some students are admitted to Lubin as 'provisionally matriculated.' If students fall into this category, they will first be notified in their Admissions letter. Students who are provisionally matriculated are monitored for their first 12 credits of the program. If they reach the end of 12 credits and have not achieved a 3.0 cumulative GPA, they may be dismissed from the program.
What do I do if I get an 'F' in a class?
Students who receive an 'F' grade have a one-time only recomputation option with the Registrar. To file for recomputation, students must complete the under the Forms section of the Registrar's webpage. The original 'F' will appear on your transcript, but only the second grade will be calculated into the cumulative grade point average.
What if I get a grade I am not happy with? Should I take the course again?
If you receive a grade above an 'F' but are not satisfied with it, it is not advisable to retake the course. Students have a one-time only recomputation option for 'F' grades. Students cannot re-compute non-failing grades. For instance, if you earn a 'C' grade, it will remain on your transcript even if you retake the course and earn a higher grade. Both grades will be calculated into your cumulative GPA. Therefore, in most cases, it's not worth the time and tuition.
