Michael grew up in Long Island New York. He began dancing at the age of 6. At the age of 14 he won the bronze medal at the International Ballet Competition in Varna, Bulgaria, the youngest male dancer to medal in the competition鶹ýs 30 year history till then. That same year he went on to win the special Jury Prize at the Prix de Paris 1994. Michael then joined American Ballet Theater at age 15, the youngest male dancer in the company鶹ýs history. With ABT Michael danced in all the full length classics as well as works by Twyla Tharp, John Neumeier, Agnes DeMille, and Lar Lubovich to name a few. After ABT Michael danced as a principal with Alabama Ballet, then as a soloist with the Boston Ballet. He was a member of the original cast of 鶹ýAll Shook Up鶹ý on Broadway, then starred as 鶹ýthe jury鶹ý in the smash hit 鶹ýChicago鶹ý the musical on Broadway. Michael was most recently seen in the Tony award winning original cast of "An American in Paris" on Broadway. Michael competed and won the title of "Mr.Broadway" in the Broadway Beauty Pageant" in 2011. Other credits include 鶹ýThe Most Happy Fella鶹ý at New York State Theater, 鶹ýOn the Town鶹ý at Encores, 鶹ýLive with Regis and Kelly鶹ý, 鶹ýThe Today鶹ýs Show鶹ý, 鶹ýABT Now for PBS鶹ý, 鶹ýLe Corsaire for PBS鶹ý, feature film 鶹ýCenter Stage鶹ý. Michael frequently teaches at Broadway Dance Center, Ballet Arts at City Center, the Peridance Center, and is currently on faculty at 鶹ý.
